description abstractSignificant advances have been made at GTE for fabrication of near-net-shape silicon nitride parts by injection molding. The technology is now in place to fabricate high-quality, high-density small cross-section (≅0.25 in.) parts such as axial flow gas turbine blades and vanes with state-of-the-art silicon nitride properties. New methods have been developed to fabricate large cross-section (>0.5 in) complex parts with good mechanical properties and reliability.
