    Abstract: Pipelines curved on the stinger may buckle laterally in the sagbend region. The critical values of the residual curvature which causes instability are evaluated by direct integration of the equilibrium-departure equations. It is shown that the layout of two pipes, laterally coupled, decreases the instability field of the system.
