description abstractPipelines curved on the stinger may buckle laterally in the sagbend region. The critical values of the residual curvature which causes instability are evaluated by direct integration of the equilibrium-departure equations. It is shown that the layout of two pipes, laterally coupled, decreases the instability field of the system.
