    Abstract: Relatively simple methods are described for determining the approximate response of noncircular lines in terms of equivalent circular lines. This leads to the possible advantage that circular line equations and results can be used to predict the response of noncircular lines. Examples are given which compare previously calculated line parameters with those calculated on the basis of equivalent circular lines.
