    Abstract: Limitations in our understanding of the fluid dynamic phenomena encountered in fluidic elements and the resulting difficulty of the quantitative characterization for simple cataloging of the performance of fluidic devices are discussed. Finally, a number of recommendations are made for additional experimental, analytical, and phenomenological insights and the need is stressed for the integration of the existing elements, regardless of their present state of analysis, into a variety of useful and competitively priced devices by those who are interested in sustaining motion from the field of fluidics.
