Abstract: This paper stresses the continuing education of engineers in industry for the period 1960–1969. The forces conditioning engineering education are delineated with particular emphasis on the acceleration of technology and the shift in importance of diagnosis. Engineering education courses designed to meet the new demands are described. Discussed are the influences that will shape the next decade. They will be dominated by “new” concerns for human problems and the task of setting priorities.
