| description abstract | A one-degree-of-freedom model of geared transmissions is set up. It incorporates the influence of unsteady rotations due to engine speed fluctuations along with simplified time-varying mesh stiffness functions, including contact losses between the teeth and back strikes. The dynamic tooth loads are determined by several analytical and numerical techniques whose results agree well. Finally, some of the response characteristics due to speed fluctuations are presented and commented upon. | |
