| description abstract | Computer analyses of vehicle and track are producing enlightening results regarding actual dynamic loads and the manner in which various parameters of vehicle and track structure affect these loads. Using this information, it is possible to decide more intelligently how to alleviate the high wheel-rail stresses caused by today’s unique traffic and track conditions. Possible solutions range from better track maintenance to different wheel-rail geometries to changes in stiffness and damping of trucks and the track structure itself. | |
