description abstractThe mechanics of polymers offers a variety of emerging technical problems ranging from basic properties characterization to simulation of complex manufacturing operations. Of particular importance are the means of expressing nonlinear constitutive equations for solids with evolving states of damage. Corresponding forms for polymeric fluids will enable the solution of many important problems of non-Newtonian rheology.
