description abstractBending strip stock using a simple punch and die arrangement is one of the common methods of producing journal bearings. In most cases, the material formed for this purpose is bimetallic, which should be taken into consideration in analyzing the deformation process. In this paper, a model for the bending process is presented that takes into account the bimetallic and strain hardening nature of strip stock, and seeks to produce a description of the resulting strip geometry. Experimental results are included for comparison with the modeling results.
