description abstractLogic foundations expounded in Part 1 are applied to development of a mathematical model describing profile generation in face milling. A pattern recognition procedure is developed, capable of locking onto proper reference points on the profile in terms of tool mark characteristics and identifying model parameters. Construction of the reference locating algorithm is examined in detail, and some aspects of application covering also profile reconstruction are discussed in the light of test results.
