description abstractAn analysis of a product-mix problem of multistage production systems was performed to optimally select parts to be processed in limited amounts of time available for given production facilities, by applying the group technology concept. In addition, optimal machining speeds were determined for all parts selected so as to maximize the production rate. A solution procedure for this problem was developed and a numerical example was presented.
