description abstractFirst this paper discusses an imaginary generating rack when an involute hob is used, on the basis of the theoretical analysis in Part 1 of this paper. Next a conical involute gear generated by the rack is analyzed. Finally, practical hobbing is discussed. Some test gears are cut and inspected. And is confirmed propriety of considering the ideal conical gear defined in Part 1 as the representative of the gear cut by the table sliding taper hobbing.
