description abstractA discrete multi-degree-of-freedom model is used to study the dynamic response of marine riser systems to loads generated by sea waves and currents. A linearization scheme is used to determine an approximate solution for the system response. A variety of studies regarding the effects of system and environmental parameters on the maximum bending stress and the maximum bottom angle are presented.
