description abstractA leading-edge correction is obtained via the method of matched asymptotic expansions to the first-order linearized solution for the potential flow past a supercavitating flat-plate hydrofoil at zero cavitation number. The composite expansions for the pressure on the plate and the shape of the upper cavity are seen to compare well with the exact solution due to Rayleigh.
