description abstractIn this article a method for measuring the instantaneous power input to a motor is described. The wattmeter developed was used to estimate the characteristics of a particular loom motor. Also the fluctuation of the power input to the loom driving motor and the effect of the different loom mechanisms on the power consumed was investigated.
