| description abstract | Laboratory tests were conducted on six-in-dia tilting pad thrust bearings to compare operating characteristics of several pad facing and backing material combinations and also to study the effects of different oil feed and discharge arrangements. Tests were conducted at various speeds and loadings, including a series of failure tests. Results of these tests are presented. | |
