    Abstract: An analytical trapezoidal hierarchical element for the transverse vibration of Mindlin plates resting on two-parameter foundations is presented. Legendre orthogonal polynomials are used as enriching shape functions to avoid the shear-locking problem and to improve considerably the computational efficiency.
