Abstract: The facilities management industry is growing fast due to the increasing importance of quality, value for money, and effective utilization of the workplace. However, the implementation and development of facilities management in Malaysia has been relatively slow due to a lack of understanding and education. The aim of this study is to identify the perception of user requirements toward building facilities in the University of Malaya research and development building known as Wisma R&D. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from the respondents. This study finds that the building users were satisfied with the performance requirement and facilities in the building. Statistically it shows that the 26 building performance requirements have a significant relationship with building user overall satisfaction. It is generally hoped that this study benefits the parties who are involved in the building construction industry, namely designers, engineers, developers, and facility managers.
