Abstract: The 1993 Triennial Conference, a technical meeting of civil engineers from five continents, met in England to discuss regeneration (redevelopment), public and private infrastructure, environment, resources, and politics. The attendees visited the Thames Tunnel, an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, and reviewed the new Waterloo International Terminal as well as loading an unloading facilities at both ends of the English Channel tunnel. The group also visited renewal projects in London and the Royal Engineer Headquarters at Chatham Barracks. The Conference terminated in Paris, after experiencing the TGV train. The meeting was successful and the responsible steering committees of the societies have agreed to another gathering three years hence.
