Abstract: Presented herein is a method for transforming Navier's equations of elasticity to three biharmonic equations for elastostatic problems and wave equations for elastodynamic problems. The method of deduction is much simpler and more direct than those seen in the literature and can be easily followed by students and engineers interested in elasticity.
