Abstract: Odor control for high moisture gaseous emissions is frequently complicated by lack of measures to objectively quantify the concentration of odor, the limitations in adsorption, or the thermal oxidation technologies to deal with such emissions. Consequently, it is often necessary to employ packed wet collectors to control the odor emission. Fick's law of diffusion offers insight to manipulating parameters such as solvent flow rate and oxidant concentrations therein to insure successful control equipment design. The rationale is presented for integrating such considerations in the design of wet collectors for control of odorous emissions.
