description abstractIn order to unveil the mechanical response of steel deck pavement, transient dynamic responses of the orthotropic steel deck pavement of large-span steel bridge were analyzed and calculated with FEM. First, the static and dynamic responses of steel deck pavement with different contact conditions between pavement and steel deck were computed. Then the dynamic responses of steel deck pavement under slippage layer condition with different loading cycles, moduli and thicknesses were calculated and discussed intensively. The results show that, absolute slippage and absolute connection between pavement and steel deck have completely different dynamic response of the pavement, and the max tensile stress under the former condition is almost 10 times as large as that under the latter one; loading cycles and moduli have little influences on the dynamic response of deck pavement; on the contrary, the thickness of the steel deck pavement influences the dynamic response greatly. Comparing with the static condition, dynamic responses of steel deck pavement are much closer to the practicality.
