description abstract | Working mechanisms of a new foundation treatment technology formed by geocell reinforced mattress and stone column were discussed. Combining with a certain engineering project, techniques of treating soft soil foundation of expressway were studied with an example of vibrosinking stone columns and geocell reinforced mattress. This foundation treatment system has an advantage of putting both geocell and stone column into full play on load transfer and support. On the basis of that, by considering the horizontal reinforced effect by geocell reinforcement, an appropriate calculation model for stone column composite foundation with geocell reinforcement located over it was set up. Furthermore, a useful design calculation method for this two-direction reinforced composite foundation system was proposed. Finally, this method was employed to design a concrete foundation treatment by geocell mattress and stone column in a certain highway project. Both the mechanism analysis and the real project study indicate that, the foundation system formed by geocell mattress and stone column possess the integrated effects of vertical piles and horizontal reinforcement; the soft soil foundation can be enhanced effectively by this treatment. | |
