Abstract: Considering the deflection can represent the distortion of the subgrade and pavement layers all together, the deflection index is adopted for full depth pavement structure analysis. In China, the deflection formula is mainly used to half rigidity base asphalt pavement only at present. The traits of full depth and half rigidity base asphalt pavement structures separately and the deflection formulas at home and abroad are analyzed. New deflection formula is put forward satisfying with full depth asphalt pavement structure in the end on the base of the pertinent fruits. Deflection combined corrective coefficient calculate formula is also combined with the deflection calculate formations of China and that of AI and Illinois in American. On this base, the deflection design index is developed. Using the developed deflection formulae, two deflection formulae about common and long life full depth pavement structures are brought forward respectively, as well as the calculating process and examples.
