description abstract | A signal control algorithm based on fuzzy logic by optimizing the phases’ order of traffic signal is presented. Compared with traditional signal fuzzy control algorithm, the proposed algorithm possesses flexible phase combination and less delay time, it can make full use of green time, to handle imbalance of traffic flow and adapt to the real-time change of traffic status very well at an intersection. The simulation results indicate the presented control algorithm in the paper could reduce vehicles’ mean delay time greatly, it is a practicable and useful method for urban intelligent traffic control. | |
