    Study on Optimum Design of Mixture for Asphalt Pavement with Flexible Base

    Abstract: Fatigue performance of asphalt mixture is one of the most important of asphalt pavement with flexible base. On the basis of the application experience of west district of China, flexible asphalt pavement structure’s performance, asphalt mixture fatigue life and fatigue test methods are briefly reviewed in this paper. The authors analyzed not only the fatigue performance and high temperature property of asphalt mixture with the optimum design method, but also the correlative main influence factors and established the optimum design model. It is recognized that 5 to 7 percent mineral filler of asphalt mixture by mass have best ability of anti-fatigue performance and high temperature property; 3 to 4.5 percent air voids of asphalt mixture has good long-term performance.
