    Internal Force Changes in the Failure Process of Existing Reinforced Concrete Arch Ribs

    Abstract: Experimental results were studied in detail for an existing reinforced concrete arch rib. Based on the static and modal experimental results, its stiffness was not reduced consistently, although it demonstrated fluctuation. The stiffness distributions of the arch rib in the initial state and each loading step were also calculated, ensuring that the results were consistent with the test results through model updating. Based on these results, some conclusions were obtained regarding the internal force change in the failure process of the existing reinforced concrete arch ribs. Finally, ultimate load verification was performed with the application of these conclusions. The result shows the accuracy of the proposed method in obtaining the ultimate load using the law of internal force changes.
