description abstract | In this interview with an engineer who is now semiretired, the lessons learned in a long and distinguished career are highlighted. After explaining his career choices and decision to obtain a graduate degree in business, he outlines the questions that an engineer should ask in determining whether a company will provide the right environment for the career he or she envisions. The responsibility that the individual engineer must assume in managing his or her career is stressed. Finally, the part-time work in marketing that an engineer can do in the later stages of a career is described. | |
