description abstract | Many construction projects must confront the need to manage pollutants, including oil and/or hazardous materials as well as sediments. Where possible, identifying, addressing, and resolving potential pollution issues can help to maintain the project schedule and minimize construction delays. The rehabilitation of the nationally historic Canton Viaduct located in Canton, Mass., one of the oldest multiple arch masonry railroad bridges in the country, utilized effective prior planning to prevent the impact of pollution on an environmentally sensitive area. | |
