    Abstract: Timber trusses in an industrial warehouse sustained damage due to excessive snow loads. The owner asked the writer's firm to evaluate the severity of the damage, determine the safe load-carrying capacity of the trusses, and evaluate a proposed repair method to increase their load-carrying capacity. This paper is unique in that it discusses the engineer's role in developing and executing a full-scale load test of timber trusses.
