    Abstract: Simple budget models and correlations have been useful in providing order-of-magnitude estimates of eutrophication variables and toxic organic chemicals in lakes and reservoirs. A similar approach is used here to develop correlations to support management of phosphorus-limited, drinking-water supplies.
