    Abstract: The biennial salary survey of the civil engineering profession conducted by the Committee on Employment Conditions during the fourth quarter of 1989 is presented. Results are analyzed on the basis of ASCE professional grades for consulting firms; construction firms; design‐construct firms; industry, railroad, and utility; state department and agency; and municipality and county, and compared with 1981–87 salary data.
