Abstract: As engineering activity becomes increasingly complex, ethical dilemmas without precedent are arising, straddling the technological and legal fields, and evoking emotions that previous generations of engineers have not had to deal with. Some of these issues are addressed against the framework of the political, economic and social value systems.
