Abstract: The purpose of this study is to look into the use of building information molding (BIM) in an affluent country, Kuwait, and a poor country, Jordan, building industries. The research started with a thorough analysis of the literature on the adoption of BIM worldwide. An online poll is then used to perform an exploratory study. The results show that the current state of BIM implementation in Jordan and Kuwait can be characterized as lagging behind, and there is more awareness of BIM applications and benefits in Jordan than Kuwait. The study also identified and compared several barriers to BIM adoption in Jordan and Kuwait, including: lack of government support; lack of effective collaboration among project stakeholders; and lack of demand for BIM. The findings of Kendall’s coefficient test show that there is a substantial degree of agreement between the respondent sets’; and the Mann-Whitney test proves five of the sixteen barriers differ statistically significantly from one another. According to the report, the governments of Kuwait and Jordan should move quickly to create a roadmap and local BIM regulations and standards at the procedural and organizational levels.
