description abstract | A system is presented for the cityor county-level management of bridges located in Wyoming. Although the research work was directly focused on the state of Wyoming, the consideration involved in the system development, the procedures involved, and the final software design are generally applicable to other states that have similar demographics and bridge inventories. Selected bridge management systems (BMS) are reviewed as appropriate, and characteristics of each, along with their advantages and disadvantages, are elaborated. Several of the favorable characteristics of these systems were modified and incorporated into the present system, called WY | |
