description abstract | The current state of the art and applications of Internet-of-Things (IoT) in construction safety management were summarized for both academic and industrial practice based on an extensive literature review and questionnaire-based research. Because workers cannot prevent long-term contact with hazard sources during the construction process, a new hazard-prevention technology system was proposed that utilizes IoT-related technologies to integrate hazard source positioning and the task flow deployment of workers throughout the entire construction process, incorporating appropriate safety measures for different accident rate areas and constructing a four-level technology system framework that includes tasks, perceptions, networks, and applications. The new system aimed to deploy emerging technologies such as IoT via new task functional teams to form an all-around multifunctional integration and interactive system that maximizes and diversifies the use of safety resources, thus providing an array of safety measures that covers the entire construction process. | |
