Abstract: As a kind of a detachable connection, flange sealing joints are widely used in chemical, nuclear power, and other industries. Research on new gaskets is one of the hotspots of flange connection technology. In this paper, the contact pressure of the main sealing surface of a new-type wedge ring gasket was calculated theoretically and the influence of master-slave surface cone angle (θm/θf), main sealing surface height (hm), small-end thickness (T), and small-end inner diameter (d1) of a new-type ring gasket on the contact pressure of the main sealing surface were analyzed by finite-element numerical simulation. The structural parameters of the ring gasket were optimized by orthogonal testing, and it was found that T had the greatest influence on the contact pressure of the main sealing surface, followed by the θm/θf, hm, and d1. The optimal structural parameters (T=4  mm, θm/θf=15/5°, hm=10  mm, and d1=99  mm) were obtained under maximum contact pressure of the main sealing surface, which provided a reference for the design of structural parameters of the wedge ring gasket.
