description abstract | Although an increase in the number of dockless shared-bicycle services improves convenience for users, the disorderly parking of bicycles has seriously invaded public space in many cities. To avoid having bicycles occupying public space and to optimize bicycle density, a questionnaire survey is administered to explore the relationship between bicycle density and bicycle utilization. Based on pedestrian traffic attributes and the evolutionary theory of risk formation in crowd accidents, an impact function that aims to capture how public bicycle density reduces the comfort and safety of public spaces and affects the utilization of such spaces is fitted. A model is built to optimize bicycle density based on operators' profits, users' utilization, public space occupancy costs, and safety/accident rate. | |
