description abstract | Because human knowledge is uncertain, knowledge‐base systems must include an uncertainty scheme. Many procedures have been developed to handle uncertain reasoning in expert systems. It is therefore important to investigate the appropriateness of the available techniques before applying one to a specific problem domain. This paper discusses the different sources of uncertainty for a construction contract legal expert system called DISCON as well as the system's approaches to handling such uncertainties. | |
