Abstract: This article describes a 96-channel computer-controlled data acquisition, processing and recording system designed for observational studies of turbulence structure in the atmospheric boundary layer. The system scans all channels nearly simultaneously, performs automatic calibration of the analog input channels, records the raw data in digital form on magnetic tape, and performs real-time computation for presentation of data summaries on a high-speed line printer. A scan repetition rate up to 50 sec?1 with an overall accuracy of 0.1 per cent is possible. The system was successfully field tested during the summer of 1965 at a field site in southwestern Kansas.
