Abstract: Twelve-hour predictions of the mixing ratio and the per cent change in mixing ratio for several pressure surfaces are generated by a trajectory procedure. Inter-level comparisons of the forecasts are made. The mixing ratio predictions are compared with simple persistence. Statistical analyses, including use of spectral analysis, are used to examine inter-level relationships of the mixing ratio, and to reveal characteristics about the spatial and temporal variability of the mixing ratio.
