| description abstract | A case study of two mesosocale eddies is documented. One of these eddies formed over land while the other formed over the ocean. Comparisons are made between this study and the general class of mesoscale vortices (polar lows, polar vortices, and comma clouds) that are embedded within cold air masses. The similarities between the land eddy and dry slot convection are also examined. | |
