Abstract: Using an Apple-II microcomputer, real-time data acquisition, processing, staring and display of 12 GHz microwave radiation attenuation by rain have been implemented. The computer-radiometer interface consists of an address decoder, two three-state gates, a counter, and an A/D converter. The 6502 assembly language is used for data acquisition; BASIC is used for processing. The rate of data acquisition may be varied according to rainfall rate to reduce error.
