Abstract: The transfer of water from the Pacific to the Indian Oceans within the Indonesian Seas is comprised primarily of North Pacific water masses. To state that this water is in reality South Pacific water and that it only ?appears? to be North Pacific water is misleading and does not properly reflect the large-scale climate role of the North Pacific Ocean.
