Abstract: The United Kingdom Fine-Resolution Antartic Model (FRAM project) it a community program to study the Southern Ocean. Central to this is an eddy-resolving three-dimensional primitive-equation ocean general circulation model. The open boundary condition at the northern boundary is described here. The boundary condition is based on that of Stevens (1990).
