Abstract: Archived hourly output from the National Meteorological Center (NMC) prediction models has provided the basis for advanced graphic diagnostic and forecast tools. The high-frequency data are available on a regional selected station network. Each point in the network consists of the basic state variables at each sigma layer and a variety of surface quantities. Five graphics products have been developed at NMC to display the hourly forecast data. They are thermo-dynamic diagrams, standard format meteograms, extended format meteograms, station model plots, and contoured analyses. Graphics workstation animation capabilities enhance the products? value. Dissemination of a portion of the raw data by the Automation of Field Operations and Services (AFOS) is underway.
