Abstract: Ground-based microwave measurements of atmospheric emission at 5 wavelengths near 1 cm have enabled separate determinations of the water vapor and liquid water contents of the atmosphere. Observations during a frontal passage, in August 1966, yielded humidity estimates within 10% of conventional measurements, and cloud-type estimates compatible with the cloud structure of normal frontal systems.
