On the Sensitivity of Multiple-Scattering Calculations to the Single-Scattering Phase Function

Source: Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences:;1968:;Volume( 025 ):;issue: 006::page 1090
    Author:
    Howell, H. B.
    DOI: 10.1175/1520-0469(1968)025<1090:OTSOMS>2.0.CO;2
    Publisher: American Meteorological Society
Abstract: Results of multiple-scattering calculations of diffuse reflection and diffuse transmission from scattering layers of different particle size and/or index of refraction are presented. Comparison of the results for each scattering model indicates the extent to which earlier calculations (for one cloud model) are generally applicable.
