    Source: Journal of Meteorology:;1961:;volume( 018 ):;issue: 004::page 501
    Author:
    Junge, Christian E.
    DOI: 10.1175/1520-0469(1961)018<0501:VPOCNI>2.0.CO;2
    Publisher: American Meteorological Society
    Abstract: A total of seven vertical profiles of Aitken nuclei in the upper troposphere and stratosphere are discussed. Average values are presented and compared with tropospheric data by other authors. The main features of the vertical profiles are explained by processes of washout, coagulation and eddy diffusion.
